Faculty
Josie Martin is senior vice president and practice group leader of the public affairs team at GolinHarris in Washington, D.C. Prior to GolinHarris, Martin served as senior vice president for legislative and public affairs with the Federation of American Hospitals, where she led a team that worked closely with the US Department of Health and Human Services and senior healthcare staff on Capitol Hill responsible for the Medicare Modernization Act. She has served as a strategic communications advisor and public policy advocate for the hospital industry, and others in the healthcare community that have high profile policy issues to be discussed or resolved within the federal government.
Victoria Lion Monroe is the senior vice president, advertising at CQ-Roll Call Group, where she is responsible for setting the company's strategy to continue to increase their share in a growing and dynamic market. She manages all advertising activities and holds revenue responsibility for CQ Weekly, CQ Today, CQ.com, CQ Politics and CQ Events. She was previously on the client side, most recently with GMMB (Greer, Margolis, Mitchell Burns), where she led their Washington media buying efforts, and was one of the agency's experts on buying Internet media. Monroe started her career in advertising at the National Journal Group as director of issue advocacy advertising and marketing. Prior to that, Monroe was a lobbyist at Cassidy and Associates. She began her career as deputy press secretary for Senate Majority Whip Alan Cranston (D-CA) and also for Congressman Bart Gordon (D-TN).
Robert Lenhard, Covington & Burling, LLP, is counsel in the firm's Washington, DC office and a member of the firm's Election & Political Law Practice group. Mr. Lenhard served as Chairman of the Federal Election Commission in 2007 and Vice Chairman of the agency in 2006. Prior to joining the FEC, Mr. Lenhard provided legal advice to organizations active in the political process at the federal, state and local levels. He represented clients in planning and implementing political strategies as well as appearing in matters before the Federal Election Commission and state regulatory agencies in California, Michigan, New York, and Ohio.
Jeffrey L. Taylor is a senior vice president of IGR Group. Mr. Taylor concentrates his practice on issues related to the Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical industries, Embassies and international companies/trade, emerging companies and technologies, and local governments. His background includes service as a chief of staff on Capitol Hill, and a stint as director of congressional relations at the National Republican Congressional Committee. He has also served as a campaign advisor on the 1996 presidential campaign of Steve Forbes, and as the director of the Frontiers Institute.
