Paul Kangas

Paul Kangas has served as Vice President, Federal Policy and Government Relations at Assurant, Inc. since February 2010. He has more than 15 years of federal affairs experience.

Before joining Assurant, Paul was Assistant Vice President of Federal Government Relations for the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI). Paul joined PCI in 2006. While there, Paul led efforts for the property and casualty industry on a wide range of federal legislative and regulatory issues including financial services regulatory reform, National Flood Insurance Program reform and reauthorization, natural catastrophe insurance policy, data security and the Employee Free Choice Act.

Prior to joining PCI, Paul served as a senior professional staff member for the U. S. House Financial Services Committee. He had previously been U.S. Director of the Transatlantic Policy Network and worked at the law office of Kirkland & Ellis. Paul earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in government from Cornell University and in 2009 was elected to the Board of Directors of the American League of Lobbyists.
