Event Policy

The Washington establishments in which we hold our events have firm policies concerning quantities: they charge us for the precise number of reservations we make, regardless of whether registrants show up or not. Accordingly, the League's policy regarding event registration must reflect these circumstances: anyone who makes a reservation and fails to cancel it by the posted deadline must pay for the event whether he/she attends or not. We price our programs essentially to "break even" and this is the only way we can continue to provide the number and diversity of programs we offer without losing money. It is permissible to substitute. Any member sharing an event notice with a colleague or co-worker is responsible for advising him/her of this policy.

Any member who brings an accompanying guest to an event can pay the member's rate for that guest as well. However, unless your organization pays the group rate for membership, any nonmember who attends an event on his/her own is expected to pay the nonmember rate, even if a co-worker belongs to the League.

All event reservations must be pre-paid; invoices will no longer be provided. There are three acceptable methods of payment: by major credit card; by personal or organizational check; or by pre-paid program series coupons. (Information about the series coupons is on the reverse of this page.)

Your understanding and cooperation will help us both to plan successful events and to hold down further increases. Any questions should be directed to Patti Jo Baber at 703-960-3011. Thank you!
